ILA – South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District President Alan A. Robb Urges Voter Participation

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the ILA:

As is obvious wherever we turn, this Country is in the midst of election campaign season. You have heard me state repeatedly, this year’s election will be historical, one way or another. While the most labor friendly, union friendly, worker friendly President of the United States, Joe Biden, holds the office, he is powerless without a Congress to support his legislative goals. Much is at stake! Our democratic system is at stake. I appreciate that we have members that have opposing views from me on many subjects. But I hope we all agree that this great union, and our great leaders at the International, have negotiated top wages and fringe benefits. Much of our future relies on a friendly federal administration that understands our needs and goals. Every state in our District has significant elections needing our votes and support. Many races are too close for comfort. Every vote counts! Wherever you are, please vote. Many states have early voting. Take advantage. Otherwise, vote November 8, 2022! Our Country is depending on you. Our livelihood depends on you. Please do not take this right for granted. Do not take our democracy for granted. I urge you to participate in our democracy like your life depended on it, because it does. Please support those candidates that support our pro-worker causes. Check with your local labor colleagues if there is any doubt who to support in your community. Do not let our votes be silenced. Let us honor ourselves, as we honor America, by participating in the election. God bless America; God bless the ILA.

Fraternally,
Alan A. Robb
