ILA and Partners Donate Supplies to Victims of Hurricane Ida

ILA Locals 1414, 1475 and 2046 from Savannah, Georgia as well as Port Savannah, Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) and CMA CGM came together to donate relief supplies for victims of Hurricane Ida in Louisiana.  On September 23, 2021, Jackie Robinson, President of ILA Local 1414, Decy’O McDuffie, Business Agent, and members of ILA Local 1414 loaded a container with pallets of water, toiletries and non-perishable food, which was then shipped to the Port of New Orleans.

Hurricane Ida was a Category 4 hurricane that made landfall in Louisiana on August 29, 2021 and became the second-most deadly and destructive in the state of Louisiana on record since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The ILA and its partners feel blessed to be able to contribute to relief efforts for brothers and sisters recovering from this devastating hurricane.
