Executive Vice President Emeritus, ILA South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District
On December 5th, 1947 a young man by the name of Willie was born to a community man named Quincy (Kearse) Seymore and mother Daisy. As the years passed that young man grew into a gentlemen, going on to play basketball and graduate from A. E. Beach High School class of 1966. Willie, unlike so many others was fortunate enough to by-pass the Vietnam War and married a young native of Savannah by the name of Rosalind. Willie went on to work in the community as he became a top team member at David’s Supermarket.
A short time after, Willie would soon be introduced to an industry that would make him a legend. On October 15, 1977, Willie James Seymore became a Longshoremen. Gradually working his way to the top, Mr. Seymore served as Business Agent, Vice President and President of ILA Local #1414 from January 2008-December 2013. Seeking and reaching new heights, Mr. Seymore was elected as International VP and International Executive VP of the ILA South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District, where he is still serving his elected terms.
Mr. Seymore has been a great service to the community, serving on the C.E.T.A. board as well as a host of other committees throughout the Greater Savannah Harbor area.
In addition to his many community, city, state and worldwide efforts, Mr. Seymore has embarked upon; he also serves as a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, leader and friend.
