2nd ILA Biennial Women’s Maritime Conference to Promote Unity and Equality; ILA’s Women on the Waterfront Gather in Savannah, Georgia, This Week for the Biennial ILA Women’s Maritime Conference, Hosted by ILA Southeastern Dock & Marine Council
NORTH BERGEN, NJ – The second Biennial Women’s Maritime Conference is scheduled in Savannah, Georgia, from February 29 to March 3, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. This biennial event was created to celebrate the rise of women in the Longshore Maritime industry. This event celebrates the importance of women in the craft through technology and other advances, along with the council’s mission to promote unity and equality across all maritime professions.
The conference program will be filled with a robust line-up of workshops, discussions, presentations, and celebrations conducted by prominent figures in the Maritime industry who will share their insights and women’s roles within the ILA. The conference anticipates doubling the participation for this year’s biennial event with 600+ registered attendees.
The conference will hear from influential speakers in the industry, such as ILA South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District President Alan Robb, along with USMX CFO Anissa Frucci. Both will be speaking on Friday morning, March 1.
Throughout the conference, many industry figures will hold essential seminars on Harassment, Discrimination Retaliation, Safety, and Mental Health. There will also be speeches to illustrate women’s legal concerns in the industry and stories of longshorewomen throughout the years.
