SAGCD President Alan A. Robb’s 2023 Thanksgiving Letter
Dear Friends:
The year has sped by and here we are at the 2023 Holiday season. This Thanksgiving allows us to pause and reflect on our many blessings even as war, hatred and chaos exists around the world and at home. We had a successful International Convention re-electing President Harold Daggett and Executive Vice President Dennis Daggett and their executive team. At the Convention, and again at the recent SAGCD educational Conference, President Daggett warned USMX of our intention to have a new contract in place by October 1, 2024. We are thankful for their leadership as we approach these challenging negotiations.
As we gather with our families and friends and celebrate our joy, we must mourn for those lost from war and terrorism. The hatred we see is a cancer that must be extinguished. I am so proud of this Union with all its diversity as a counterweight to this hatred. We must silence the voices of hate. We must use our collective voice to speak up to denounce the spreaders of lies that spew and feed the hate-mongers. This includes defeating politicians that feed on lies and hate. We must continue to support our pro-worker friends and oppose those that express hatred and anti-worker sentiment.
I truly hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Let us give thanks and pray for peace and love, and for good health and safety. Best wishes, stay well, and thank you for all you do. God bless America! God Bless the ILA! Happy Thanksgiving 2023!
Sincerely,
Alan A. Robb
President
