ILA~USMX Joint Safety Committee – OSH Circular – 2023-04 – Stay Back One Full Container Stack!

The ILA~USMX Joint Safety Committee (JSC) would like to take the time to remind all in-house and outside drivers using yard stack service lanes to stay back at least one full container length when lining up for the receipt or delivery of containers.

In our global research, the JSC has found that stacking errors (overlaps) and problematic operation of container handling equipment have combined to cause serious accidents that have killed or severely injured drivers who were struck by falling containers.

Stay Back a Little; Live a Lot!
