MIAMI, FL. – (October 20, 2022) Hydi Webb, Port Director and CEO, Port of Miami, Florida welcomed a delegation of ILA officials to her port on Thursday, continuing to build on the strong relationship the union and the port have enjoyed for decades. Webb was named Miami Port Director early in 2022, replacing Juan Kuryla, and has adopted the pro-ILA position of her predecessor. Ms. Webb was a featured speaker at this summer’s ILA South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District Convention.

On Thursday, she greeted ILA’s Atlantic Coast District General Vice President John Daggett to the Miami port. Included in the ILA delegation were Luis Gonzalez, International Vice President and President, ILA Local 1922; Torin Ragin, President, ILA Local 1416; Kenneth Oelkers, ILA International Director of Education; and Bob Fiore, ILA International Safety Director. Ms. Webb was joined by Fred Wong, Port of Miami Deputy Port Director; and Debra Duster Owens, Port of Miami Government Affairs, and International Relations.

Daggett and Oelkers are touring ILA cruise ports as part of preliminary work on a video they are creating for ILA 2023 Convention on how those ports handled the almost three-year period when the Covid pandemic virtually shut down all cruise ships worldwide.
