The ILA’s Atlantic Coast District will hold its 36th Quadrennial Convention during the preceding week from Tuesday, July 16, 2019 to Thursday, July 18, 2019, also at the Diplomat Resort Hotel in Hollywood, Florida. Michael J. Vigneron announced the ACD Convention dates and he will serve as Convention Chairman for the ACD conclave.

Hundreds of ILA delegates are expected to attend the two conventions which have adopted the theme: ILA Strong: Global Force, Elections for all International and Atlantic Coast District Executive Officers will be held at each respective convention.

A full speakers’ program is being formulated for both conventions featuring representatives from labor, maritime and politics. Resolutions submitted by ILA members will be considered and voted upon and the ACD and ILA will establish policies and programs to carry them forward over the next four years.

Convention Calls for both the ACD and ILA will be distributed soon to all ILA locals with information on convention delegates; guest registration; hotel registration information and instructions on submitting resolutions. The ACD and ILA are working toward conducting delegate and guest registration, as well as hotel reservations, on-line for the 2019 Conventions.

“We are excited to once again be approaching our Conventions, held every four years, bringing together ILA delegates from all our Atlantic and Gulf Coasts; Great Lakes, Canada and Puerto Rico, plus our many affiliated bodies including the International Organization of Masters, Mates and Pilots; United Marine Division and Supreme Court Officers,” said ILA President Daggett. “We’ll conduct important business during the ILA’s four-day convention, but we also plan social events in the evenings to allow ILA families to reunite with each other and celebrate our strong solidarity.”

“The Atlantic Coast District is looking forward to setting a strong tone when we hold our Convention from July 16th to July 18th,” said ACD President Vigneron. “With an energetic program of speakers and convention work, we want to charge up our ILA members prior to the International Convention.”

Registration for the ACD Convention will take place two days prior to the start of the convention, on Sunday, July 14 and Monday, July 15, 2019. Likewise, ILA Convention registration will begin on Saturday, July 20 and continue on Sunday, July 21, 2019 prior to the International Convention opening.
