The International Longshoremen’s Association proudly announces its endorsement of Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Jack Morman. It is with great pride and privilege that the I.L.A. endorse the aforementioned candidates for reelection.

Judge Emmett has served the people of Harris County with distinction since 2007, providing unwavering leadership, most recently through the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.  Judge Emmett’s open-door policy as County Judge has benefited the working families of Harris County, earning him the respect of his constituency regardless of party affiliation. In addition to our endorsement, we are hoping to have Judge Emmett endorsed by the Harris County AFL-CIO.

Similarly, Commissioner Morman has been a reliable and important friend to the I.L.A. and all labor organizations on the Harris County Commissioners Court. Precinct 2 includes a large portion of the Houston Ship Channel and as a result, Commissioner Morman has recognized his unique role in insuring the continued success of the Port.  Commissioner Morman has demonstrated his support for the working families in his precinct and has earned our respect and support. Along with our endorsement for re-election we are also hoping to have Commissioner Morman endorsed by the Harris County AFL-CIO.
